DUDLEY Town FC will take on a team of Wolves Old Stars next month to raise funds for borough charities.

The match will take place at The Dell Stadium in Bryce Road on November 19, kicking off at 2.30pm.

The Robins' team will be made up of youth team managers and coaches, with a few ex-West Bromwich Albion players performing cameo roles.

The Wolves line-up will be kept under wraps until the day but ex-striker and League Cup winner Mel Eves will be in the manager’s dugout.

Admission on the day will be £5 for adults and £3 for children or OAPs.

Proceeds will be split between the children’s ward at Russells Hall Hospital and Dudley Mind, YMCA Black Country Group and Dudley Alzheimer’s Society - the three chosen charities of the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Dave Tyler.

Stephen Austin, chairman of Dudley Town FC, said: “As a truly community-focused football club, we are proud to host this annual event to try and raise money for worthwhile causes.

“This year they are the mayor’s nominated charities and the children’s ward at Russells Hall Hospital.

“It should be a great match with some recognisable faces from years gone by, and we would urge people to come along.”

Cllr Tyler added: “I’m really grateful to Dudley Town for organising this event.

“The more people that turn up, the more that very worthy charities will benefit. So let’s pack the Dell out for what will be a great day.”

Tickets will be available on the day but can also be bought in advance by calling Mr Austin on 07412046050.
