COUPLES planning to tie the knot are invited to attend a wedding open day at Himley Hall this weekend.

The venue, which is licensed to hold civil weddings and partnership ceremonies, will open its doors from 11am to 4pm on Sunday (October 15).

People can explore the historic venue and chat with wedding co-ordinators and members of the catering team, who will happily discuss the options available to couples on the day.

Registrars from the Staffordshire Registration Service will also be on hand to guide couples through the civil ceremony process.

Admission to the event is free of charge but people will have to pay for parking.

Refreshments are available throughout the day.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member responsible for halls, said: “The wedding open day offers a unique opportunity for couples to see how Himley can look on their special day and gives them the time to discuss civil weddings and partnership ceremonies with the experienced team.

“The rooms will be set out for both ceremonies and receptions so visitors won’t just have to rely on their imagination to see how stylish their wedding day could look, they’ll be able to see it for themselves.”
