A CARE worker from Dudley has been given a 12 month community order.

Wendy Carol Harris, of Wrens Nest Road, ill-treated or wilfully neglected a male in her care, in Sedgley on April 30.

The 39-year-old must carry out 120 hours unpaid work and pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £400 court costs.

The following also appeared before Dudley Magistrates Court between January 26 and 31:

Steven Richard Meese, aged 28, of Lower High Street, Cradley Heath, was sent to prison for four weeks, suspended for six months, for stealing alcohol, worth £64, from BP Stourbridge on September 14. He must pay compensation of £50 and a victim surcharge of £115.

Peter Thomas Walker, aged 24, of Northwood Court, Brierley Hill, was sent to prison for 17 weeks, suspended for two years, for possessing a knuckle duster in Brierley Hill on November 21. He was also fined £100 for failing to attend an initial assessment to establish whether he was dependent upon or had a propensity to misuse a class A drug, in Oldbury, on August 2. He was given a two month curfew and for the duration must remain at his home address between 9pm and 7am. He must also pay a victim surcharge of £115 and £85 court costs.

Nicholas Austin, aged 31, of Hastings Court, Milking Bank, was fined £300 for drink driving in Dudley on August 22. When tested, he had 97mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was also sentenced for driving while disqualified and without insurance. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £85 court costs.

Slawomir Pieczula, aged 38, of Foxglove Road, Dudley, was given a 10 week community order for possessing a crossbow in Dudley on December 20. He was given a 10 week curfew and for the duration must remain at his home address between 7pm and 7am. He must pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £350 court costs.

Simon Edward Churchley, aged 45, of Thompson Road, Oldbury, was discharged conditionally for six months for stealing 40 bags of Haribo sweets, worth £40, from Poundland, Oldbury, on January 30. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20.

James David Gretton, aged 24, of Beech Green, Dudley, was discharged conditionally for six months for possessing cannabis in Dudley on January 29. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20.
