AN arsonist who set fire to donations left outside a Black Country charity shop must pay £250 compensation.

The fire started by Michelle Brenda Smith on January 21, destroyed the window of the British Heart Foundation’s High Street shop in Halesowen.

The 51-year-old, of George Road, Halesowen, was fined £30 when she appeared before Dudley Magistrates Court.

She was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £135 court costs.

The following also appeared before the courts between March 16 and 22:

Carl David Wagner, aged 31, of White City Road, Quarry Bank, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for being drunk and disorderly in Brierley Hill, on February 16. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £135 court costs.

Colin Harper, aged 59, of Oregon Close, Kingswinford, was fined £500 for drink driving in Kingswinford on September 20, 2017. When tested, he had 48mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath. The legal limit is 35mcgs. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and must pay a victim surcharge of £50 and £600 court costs.

Leah Shirley Sperin, aged 31, of Spring Street, Lye, was given a three month community order for stealing items, worth £250, from Tesco, Cradley Heath, on February 11. She was given a three month curfew and for the duration must remain at her home address between 7pm and 7am. She must pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £450 court costs.

Paul Stuart Ashby, aged 51, of Ratcliffe Close, Sedgley, was fined £120 for breaching a restraining order in Sedgley on March 18. He must pay a victim surcharge of £30 and £185 court costs.

Laura Jarvis, aged 23, of High Street, Lye, was given a 12 month community order for stealing items, worth £33.79, from shops in Halesowen on February 3 and stealing £50 cash in Dudley on February 16. She must pay compensation of £60, a victim surcharge of £85 and £320 court costs.

Gemma Louise Dunne, aged 35, of Seymour Road, Lye, was discharged conditionally for 12 month for stealing three steaks and a bottle of fabric conditioner, worth £21.50, from Iceland, Stourbridge, on March 7. She must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £135 court costs.

Sajad Islam Mahmood, aged 42, of Ivanhoe Street, Dudley, was sent to prison for 26 weeks for breaching a restraining order in Oldbury on January 30, while subject to a suspended sentence. He must pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Delroy Anthony Jordan, aged 39, of Swan Crescent, Oldbury, was given a two year community order for assaulting a woman and causing £100 worth of damage to an oven door in Birmingham, on or about January 25. He must carry out 30 hours unpaid work and pay compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £85 and £250 court costs.

Stuart Leonard Johnson, aged 42, of Osprey Drive, Dudley, was discharged conditionally for six months for assaulting a man in Dudley on January 10. He must pay a victim surcharge of £20 and £400 court costs.

Matthew Alan Hales, aged 44, of Langstone Road, Russells Hall, was fined £125 for causing £500 worth of damage to a glass door panel in Dudley on December 9, 2017. He must pay compensation of £200, a victim surcharge of £30 and £135 court costs.

Christopher Ronald Welch, aged 35, of Marigold Crescent, Dudley, was sent to prison for 24 weeks for stealing items, worth £25, from Lloyds Chemist, Lye, on March 6, while subject to a suspended sentence. He must pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Luke John Henry Williams, aged 33, of Upton Street, Netherton, was sent to prison for 12 weeks, suspended for 12 months, for stealing £802.67 worth of Yankee Candles and a Remington Lady Shave, from Boots, West Bromwich, between February 24 and March 8. He must pay compensation of £802.67.

Keith William Kinsey, aged 58, of Himley Road, Dudley, was discharged conditionally for 12 months for causing £30 worth of damage to a wheel clamp in Dudley on January 19. He must pay compensation of £30, a victim surcharge of £20 and £135 court costs.

Andrew Carl Huxley, aged 45, of Halesowen Road, Cradley Heath, was given a nine month community order for stealing steaks, worth £39.48, from Aldi, Halesowen, on March 7. He must pay a victim surcharge of £85.

Shaquile Smith, aged 23, of Winterley Gardens, Sedgley, was sent to prison for 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months for driving while disqualified in Cradley Heath on March 7. He was also sentenced for driving without a licence, insurance or MOT, resisting a police officer in the execution of his duty and possessing cocaine. He must carry out 120 hours unpaid work and pay a fine of £200 and £115 victim surcharge. Smith was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.
