A DUDLEY and Halesowen taxi firm boss braved the world's fastest zip line to raise almost £200 for three good causes.
Adrenaline junkie Shaz Saleem reached speeds of up to 125mph as he flew through the air on Velocity at Zip World, north Wales.
He flew headfirst down a mountain on Europe’s longest zip line to raise funds for Dudley Mind, YMCA and Alzheimer's UK - the Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Dave Tyler's chosen charities.
Mr Saleem, who is an ambassador to the mayor, said: "It was a phenomenal experience, just breathtaking.
"After my skydive in August, I left it to the people to decide what I did next and the zip wire kept coming up.
"I thought 'how bad can that be?' but when I watched videos on YouTube I thought 'yeah, that looks bad!'"
Undeterred, the chairman of Dudley's Private Hire and Taxi Association took the plunge on Saturday (April 14), which also marked the tenth anniversary of his beloved grandmother's death.
"I wanted to do it on that date so I could dedicate it to her," he said.
So far, Mr Saleem, who lives in Kingswinford, has raised £175 of his £200 target.
