A DUDLEY charity shop is celebrating its 10th anniversary by offering customers 10 per cent off for one day only.

Shoppers will be able to take advantage of the discount at the St Giles Hospice shop in High Street tomorrow (Thursday, April 26).

The store opened as the Walsall Hospice Shop in 2008 before joining St Giles - a charity that cares for people with a potentially incurable illness and their families - eight years ago in 2010.

Lynwen Truesdale, the charity's head of retail, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating 10 years of trading in Dudley and look forward to seeing our regular shoppers, as well as welcoming new customers.

“This shop has been a much-valued ambassador for St Giles in the area for many years and every sale it makes helps to meet the £9 million we need each year to fund the services we offer to patients, carers and families.”

She praised the dedication of the volunteers who have supported the shop over the last decade and added that the shop was always looking for more people to help out.

“We would like to thank all of the people who give their free time to St Giles and help out at our shop, which provide a vital source of contact with our communities.

“Volunteering in our shop offers people a great way to discover new skills, gain work experience and learn how to interact effectively with customers. It’s also a wonderful way to meet people and make new friends.”
