THE Bafta TV awards are one of the biggest nights of the year for stars of the small screen.

While the winners showed off their trophies, other stars were happy just to show off their style on the red carpet.

A PIECE of classical music that was played at the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge has been voted the nation’s favourite music for the big day.

Toccata from Charles-Marie Widor’s Symphony For Organ No 5 topped a poll of nearly 4,000 votes by Classic FM listeners to find the UK’s most-loved wedding music.

Penned by French composer and organist Widor almost 140 years ago, the piece was played in Westminster Abbey on April 29 2011 for William and Kate’s ceremony, as well as eight other royal weddings in the past 60 years.

COMEDIAN and actor Hal Cruttenden has commented that Brexit should mean the United Kingdom also leaves Eurovision.

Cruttenden, who has appeared on Mock The Week and Have I Got News For You, tweeted: “I’m not in favour of Brexit but, if it means leaving the single market and the customs union, surely it should also mean leaving #Eurovision – they hate us. We’re not even getting sympathy votes after the stage invasion!”.

UK Eurovision hopeful SuRie suffered a setback during her performance when an intruder stormed the stage, grabbing her microphone out of her hands.

The Eurovision Song Contest later tweeted that the individual was in police custody, adding that the EBU network “regrets” the incident.

MEMBERS of the band Frightened Rabbit have visited a marina where the body of singer Scott Hutchison was recovered.

Owners of Port Edgar Marina in South Queensferry considered cancelling an open weekend event after his body was pulled from the water on Thursday evening.

But on Friday night members of the band visited the marina near Edinburgh to privately lay a floral tribute.

The band’s management team and record label urged the marina owners to go ahead with the two-day event which continued on Sunday and raised money for the Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH).
