ALMOST 300 kind-hearted fundraisers will take part in a colour run in aid of the neonatal unit at Russells Hall Hospital.

Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust staff will be joined by family, friends and members of the public for the 5k Neon Dash at Himley Hall Park on Sunday (June 10) to raise funds for specialist equipment.

Registration starts at 9.30am and runners will be welcomed by the Deputy Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Hilary Bills before taking part in a warm-up led by the team from David Lloyd Leisure.

A powder blast at 11am will signal the start of the run.

“We want to encourage everyone to come along cheer on the rainbow racers as they are splattered with neon powder for this fantastic good cause,” said Karen Phillips, the trust's fundraising manager.

The race will be followed by a family fun day, where visitors can browse stalls and charity stands, have a go on the bouncy castle, get their faces painted or grab a coffee, gourmet burgers or ice cream to refuel.
