THE annual bandstand celebrations will be kick started again this month with a vintage themed event on Church Green.

On Saturday, June 16, the bandstand will be heading back in time as the centre point for a number of musical acts, vintage stalls and themed activities for residents and visitors to enjoy.

The Victory Vixens will be headlining with their vintage twist on modern tunes and fantastic vocal harmonies.

Arrow Valley Brass Band will also be taking a turn in the spotlight performing some traditional music.

A juggling demonstration and a talented Penny Farthing rider will be on hand to entertain the crowds as part of a Victorian Circus display as well as the opportunity to enjoy afternoon tea, face painting, vintage car displays, a bouncy castle, stalls and activities.

Val Wilson, arts and events officer, said: “Vintage is all the rage at the moment so I think this event at the bandstand will be really enjoyable for visitors both young and old."

The free event will run from noon to 4pm.

Outdoor performances are subject to change/cancellation due to weather conditions.
