FAMILIES had fun in the sun during the annual under 5s day at Himley Hall and Park.

More than 3,000 attended the popular Dudley Council event, which featured activities and entertainment for children under the age of five.

The park’s beach made a return, with many children having fun building sandcastles and burying their feet while elsewhere little ones laughed along in delight at the Punch and Judy Shows.

The train, donkey rides and children’s funfair also went down well with youngsters.

Councillor Ian Kettle, Dudley's cabinet member responsible for tourism, said: “What a perfect day we’ve had for under 5s day. The sun shone and our younger visitors have enjoyed a fantastic day out in the beautiful grounds of Himley Hall.

“Thanks to everyone who came along to support the event and to all the organisations that helped make the day such a success."
