A WRENS Nest teenager with cerebral palsy arrived at his school prom in style thanks to a kind-hearted couple.

Kerry Matthews was in a panic ahead of her son’s prom on Thursday as every car hire firm she contacted was fully booked.

Determined to give Callum a prom to remember, she turned to her friend Dave Thomas, who put out a plea on Facebook, asking for help.

Kerry’s prayers were answered by Jo and Paul Farley, who arranged for the Sutton School pupil and his friend Callum Harper to attend the event at David Lloyd Leisure, Brierley Hill, in an all-terrain Mercedes-Benz Unimog.

The caring pair had originally offered to take the 16-year-old in their Jaguar XS but after meeting him, Paul - who works at Marston’s Brewery - asked bosses if he could take Callum in the firm’s ‘HobMog’ promotional truck.

“It was a total surprise for him,” said mum Kerry.

“He thought he was going in the Jaguar. When he saw this massive truck he was so shocked.

“Callum was really touched by it all and I’d just like to say a massive thank you to them."

She added: "We offered to pay but they didn’t want anything, they did it out of the goodness of their hearts. It just shows that there are nice people in the world.

“I just wanted him to have something nice.

"Proms are supposed to be special, you only do it once in your life and thanks to them, he turned up in style.”
