PLANS to build 225 homes on the site of a former Pensnett brickyard have been given the green light.

The scheme, which covers 18 acres of the old Ibstock factory on Tansey Green Road, was passed at a meeting of the Development Control Committee on Tuesday (July 12).

Councillors approved the plan on the basis that 25 per cent of the homes will be designated as affordable housing and the developer, Taylor Wimpey, makes a financial contribution to fund local school places.
