FAMILIES can keep boredom at bay by visiting Priory Park this summer.

Pond dipping, treasure hunts, gardening and crafts are just some of the activities on offer throughout the school holiday.

The fun begins on Saturday, August 4, when Dudley Community Church host Unity Brings - its free community fun day.

Running from noon to 4pm, there will be games, a bouncy castle, face painting, live music, food, stalls, a football tournament, Zumba and more.

A bug craft and pond dipping session will take place on Tuesday, August 7 between 1pm and 3pm.

There is a suggested donation of £1 towards the session, which will be repeated on August 21.

Two treasure hunt and craft sessions will take place on Tuesday, August 14 and 28.

Families can drop in anytime between 1pm and 3pm for a £1 suggested donation.

Hour-long free family games sessions will take place on August 9, 16, 23 and 30 at 11am, including rounders, parachute games and a mini Olympics.

A free gardening session will run in the Pavilion on Thursday, August 16 between 1pm and 3pm, where youngsters can plant ingredients for pizzas to grow at home. Children can also prepare and cook pizzas on an open fire using fresh ingredients.

Play Week will be on site on Thursday, August 2 from noon to 4pm. Children must be registered in advance to take part in the activities which include group games, sports, craft activities and assault courses.

Tennis for Free will be running training sessions for different age groups every Mondays until August 20.

Sessions will take place from 4pm to 5pm for ages five to nine, 5pm to 6pm for ages 10 to 15 and 6pm to 7pm for adult beginners.

There are also free all age sessions every Sunday from 10am to 12pm.
