CROWDS enjoyed a sunny day of family fun in Buffery Park at the weekend.

The free fun day, which was organised and funded by the Friends of Buffery Park, formed part of the Black Country Festival.

The park was buzzing with activity on Saturday (July 21) as visitors enjoyed a dog show, wrestling, live music, a classic car display, table top sales and fairground rides.

Stephen Briscoe, chairman of the Friends group, wished to thank everyone who attended and helped to make the day a success, adding: "I hope they enjoyed it as much as the group did putting it together."

Dave Brownhill, chairman of the Black Country Festival committee, said: "The group changed the date of the event to bring it into the Black Country Festival and they had record crowds there. It was a really good day.

"We're three-quarters of the way through the festival now and without a doubt it has been the best one to date.

"People are really embracing it and we are proving that if you want to have a day out in July, the Black Country is the place to be."
