A FIRE hose and hosepipes have been donated to Dudley Zoo by West Midlands Fire Service.

Glen Neighbour, from Dudley Fire Station, and Dave Neat, stores manager from the service's HQ in Birmingham, visited the zoo to hand over the spare supplies which will be put to good use.

Curator Richard Brown said: “The hosepipes will be used to clean out the sea lion pool which is a massive help to us. We are very grateful indeed.

“The fire hose will be transformed into hammocks and climbing nets for our primates as part of our regular enrichment activities.”
