HUNDREDS of film fans descended on Dudley Castle at the weekend for a double dose of horror classics.

The 11th century castle provided a dramatic backdrop for outdoor screenings of Night of the Living Dead and The Lost Boys as guests were entertained with a series of spooky projections on the ramparts.

Presented in partnership with Flatpack Projects and Film Hub Midlands, the Beware the Moon fright fest attracted more than 700 people on Fridayand hundreds more for the sold-out screening on Saturday.

Ian Francis, director of Flatpack Projects, said: “We couldn’t have found a more spectacular venue for the Beware the Moon series than Dudley Castle and we're delighted with the positive response from audiences.

"With 2,000 people attending over the two nights the interest in outdoor screenings continues to grow.”

Matt Lewis, manager at Dudley Zoo, added: “We are really pleased that this annual event was such a great success and we are looking forward to hosting the cinema nights again next year.”
