A FORMER Lord Mayor of London has signed up for the services of a unique Dudley-based business.
Sir John Chalstery, Lord Mayor of the capital during 1995 and 96, has enlisted the help of a Dudley grave tending firm.
The 76-year-old former Lord Mayor, a student of Dudley Grammar School between 1942 and 49, now known as Castle High School, has asked for Remembering You Grave Care' to look after his town loved ones resting place.
Mark Room set up the business in 2006 and helps out elderly and disabled mourners who cannot make it to the cemetery themselves to remember their loved one.
Mark said: "The idea of the business is to serve the whole community even if you have moved out of the area just like Sir John, or if you are unable to attend the graveside giving you the piece of mind that the resting place of your loved one is always kept clean and tidy and cared for."
Sir John said: "My grandparents and parents are buried in Tipton Cemetery. Mark looks after the family grave."
Mark's service features a light clean of the stone or memorial, grass clipped, any wind-blown debris removed and a fresh bunch of flowers laid by the gravestone.
To book Mark's service at a cost of £19.99 for a standard package, call him on 07815 462275 or go to www.rememberingyougravecare.zoomshare.com or email rememberingyou@blueyonder.co.uk.
