Oxzide rock and roll out a new album

4:58pm Tuesday 19th February 2008

ROCKERS Oxzide have become a formidable force on the live circuit while not neglecting songwriting or recording.

The five-piece group based in Dudley and Stourbridge, a region many regard as the home of heavy metal, spent 2007 developing a live show which took them to the regional finals of the prestigious Bodog Battle of The Bands Competition.

The Birmingham finals of the competition saw the band perform at the city's Carling Academy and placed them among the top ten unsigned bands from the region.

Oxzide have also been busy writing songs for their debut album entitled Really Not Insane'.

The album gives a nod to a range of styles by providing what Oxzide describe as "an eclectic mix of tracks that, while reflecting the band's commitment to true classic rock, has real texture and variety".

The band cover a range of subjects to draw inspiration for their lyrics, vocalist Beth Hemming sings about topics ranging from violent and abusive relationships, an impending apocalypse and the turmoil of a person who believes if they fall asleep they will die.

The album was finished in January and an official version will be on sale soon, in the meantime a limited stock is already available, for more details visit www.myspace.com/oxzide.
