The darkly comic Metamorphosis starts a run at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre today.
The play, based on the critically acclaimed Franz Kafka novel, sees the unremarkable life of the Samsa family turned upside down when their son, Gregor, emerges one morning inexplicably transformed into a monstrous insect.
As revulsion turns to resentment, strange things start to happen to the family.
The production will run at the Rep from today (Tuesday February 26) till Saturday March 1.
It combines a mind-bending, gravity-defying split-level set along with an original score by world-renowned musician and lyricist, Nick Cave and long time collaborator Warren Ellis.
Performances start at 7.30pm Wed to Sat.
Tickets cost from £11.75 to £19 with concessions available. Call the box office on 0121 236 4455 or book online at www.birmingham-rep.co.uk
