WELCOME to our live coverage of the all-Midlands British middleweight title fight, and more importantly, a career defining night for Dudley's Darren McDermott.
There's little doubt whose side the crowd are on here at Wolverhampton Civic Hall.
The Black Country chats are ringing around the venue.
The fighters are in the ring. What an atmosphere we have here.
We're just about to hear the introductions and then it'll be time for that first bell and Macca's moment of destiny!
Round 1: The champion comes out and tries to ruffle McDermott up with a couple of right hands. But Macca stays disciplined and tries to use his extra reach with some solid left jabs. An intriguing start. We give the first round all square.
Round 2:The fight is over before it's even got going. Despair. Shock. Deflation. Just some of the words that can describe the goings on here. What appeared to be a clash of heads has opened up an enormous cut under McDermott's left eye and the referee has called the fight off. Elcock retains the title by stoppage. Utter despair for Darren.
