TWO Dudley Council care workers accused of neglecting a man in their care have appeared in court.
Catherine Flowers, aged 56, of Rangeways Road, Kingswinford, and Donna Reid, aged 31, of Peak Road, Stourbridge, appeared at Halesowen Magistrates Court on Friday June 27 charged with ill-treating or wilfully neglecting a person without capacity under the Mental Capacity Act of 2005.
The charges relate to an incident in which a 51-year-old brain-damaged man was allegedly found abandoned in a minibus after failing to arrive back at Dudley care home, Grange House, in July 2007.
Flowers and Reid, who have both been suspended from their jobs, spoke only to confirm their names and addresses.
The case was adjourned to await committal to Wolverhampton Crown Court and the pair were remanded on unconditional bail until Friday July 11.
