The results are finally in for the highly anticipated Dudley Community Awards 2023.

The winners were revealed in a glistening ceremony last night (Thursday, November 23) at the Copthorne Hotel in Brierley Hill.

Guests were dressed in their best attire as the community gathered to celebrate the very finest in the borough and all they do to help make the region so unique.

Regional editor Stephanie Preece said: “What a fantastic evening. It’s been really moving to hear so many incredible stories.

“I’m delighted with how it’s all gone and we think all the finalists are winners.”

The awards are designed to recognise those that go the extra mile for the community from individuals and families to businesses and charities.

In partnership with the University of Worcester, the stories reflect those told in Newsquest’s newspapers every day and gives people a chance to be recognised.

There were three finalists in each of the 12 categories last night with the overall winner of the evening being Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.

Chair of the board of trustees, Shelley Duncan, said: “It’s delightful to receive a local award as we’re a local charity. All the money that’s raised in this area stays in this area.

“We’re a hands on charity and we’ll do what we can to help people.”
