WEST Midlands Police paid £3.35million to buy a two-storey office building on the edge of Dudley which will serve as the borough’s new police headquarters.
Bond Wolfe’s commercial property division sold the prominent modern office building on Castlegate Business Park to the force which plans to close its existing Brierley Hill HQ for police in Dudley.
The 21,375 sq ft property, which sits on a 1.45-acre site and comes with 98 parking spaces, was sold to West Midlands Police for £3,350,000.
It is currently let until November 2024 to Towergate Underwriting Group, trading as Footman James.
James Mattin, managing director Bond Wolfe, said: “We are delighted to have concluded this sale as part of a very successful year for Bond Wolfe.
“Following the sale of their previous headquarters, we are delighted that West Midland Police chose Castlegate as the location for their new Dudley station.”The West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, Simon Foster, said of the purchase “I am pleased that Dudley is to get a brand-new police station.
“The new site will be fit for the 21st century and it will become Dudley Police’s headquarters. It will be a base for the local neighbourhood policing team, for officers answering 999 calls and it will be open to the public so they can report crimes in person.
“I am committed to re-building community policing, to keep people, families, businesses and the local community safe and secure.”
