THE Borough’s first Library Link has opened its doors to the public following the closure of Dudley Wood Library.

Dudley Wood Library Link is based at the Dudley Wood Neighbourhood Learning Centre in Pavilion Gardens and has been set up to replace the Bush Road library facilities which were closed last month.

Visitors to the link can borrow books as well as use computers. They can also reserve talking books, CDs and DVDs online to have them delivered to the link the next day.

The new facility is open Monday to Thursday from 9am until 5pm and Friday from 9am until 4.30pm.

A member of the library staff will man it for a few hours each day, however visitors can still gain access and assistance from staff in the neighbourhood learning centre outside the manned hours.

The new facility also boasts a self-service kiosk where people can borrow, renew and return books themselves using the latest technology.

Dudley Wood’s already established reading group for adults and the chatter books reading group for younger readers will take place at the Link along with rattle and rhyme for tots. There are also plans for a new homeclub club.

A Library link will also be introduced in Woodside before the end of the year.
