College secures major contract

DUDLEY College has been selected to be the national apprenticeship training provider to Engineering Maintenance Services Ltd – the army of technicians and engineers which service Tesco.

EMS is the ‘behind the scenes’ army for the supermarket giant which maintains everything from the in-store bakeries to the petrol filling stations.

The apprentices who will all be located nationwide will join the college’s four year technical apprenticeship programme in electrical and mechanical trades.

Vic Reid, Assistant Principal, said: “The college is absolutely delighted to have gained this prestigious national contract against some tough competition.

“One of the reasons why the college secured this work was that we listened to the company and provided them with exactly what they needed.”
