THE Bishop of Worcester is shedding his robes and donning his cycling helmet on Saturday to raise money for the Historic Churches’ Trust.
Bishop John Inge will be visiting as many churches as possible during the day and he’s challenging others to come and join him, by getting on their bikes, dusting off their walking shoes or simply jumping on the bus.
The Historic Churches’ Trust helps with the maintenance of the fabric of church buildings within the Dudley and Worcestershire area.
The idea is for riders and walkers to obtain sponsorship, plan their route and set off.
Bishop John said: “We hope all our Anglican churches as well as many churches of other denominations will be open to visitors, so this is a great opportunity to take a look at somewhere you may not usually go.”
Half of the money raised by the individual goes to the Worcestershire and Dudley Churches Trust, while the other half goes to an individual church named by the participant.
To sponsor Bishop John, contact Ron Hesketh on 01305 732814.
