Netherton man steals from church

A 31-YEAR-old Netherton man has been jailed for 12 weeks after stealing a garden strimmer belonging to a church.

Anthony Bill, of St Peters Road was jailed by Dudley Magistrates Court on September 12 for stealing the £275 strimmer from Champions Church.

He was also jailed for 12 weeks to run concurrent with the above for stealing two packets of cigarettes from Spar.

The defendant was also jailed for three weeks to run concurrent with the above for failing to surrender to bail.

He was also jailed 12 weeks to run concurrent with the above for stealing two bottles of vodka.

Also appearing at Dudley Magistrates Court on September 12: Darren Lee Edwards, aged 37, of Mill Street, Brierley Hill, was fined £75 for driving a vehicle he was not licensed to drive.

He was also handed six licence penalty points, fined £125 and ordered to pay £15 costs for driving without insurance.

Tony Morris, aged 23, of Greenspark Road, Kates Hill was fined £150, ordered to pay £315 court costs and £15 costs for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent.

Eammon Shay Wolohan, aged 33, of Vauxhall Gardens, Dudley, was fined £100, ordered to pay £315 court costs and £15 costs for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent.

In court on September 8: David Harrison, aged 23, of Brownswall Road, Sedgley, was jailed for 18 weeks, for trespassing and then stealing two crates of Stella Lager from Somerfield.

The defendant was also sent to prison for six weeks, to run concurrent with the above for stealing two jars of coffee from a shop in Lower Gornal while on bail.

He was also jailed for six weeks, concurrent with the above, for stealing 85 bars of chocolate from Tesco Express while on bail.

Arron Christopher Michael Dillon, aged 19, of Corbyn Road, Russells Hall, was sent to a Young Offenders Institution for four weeks for destroying a metal road sign to the value of £300.

He was also sent to a Young Offenders Institution for two weeks to run concurrent with the above for failing to surrender to custody.

Vickram Mal, aged 24, of Watsons Green Road, Dudley, was fined £100 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £60 court costs for driving without a valid test certificate.

He was also fined £100 for failing to produce a valid test certificate to a police officer.

Stephen Raymond Robbins, aged 28, of Highfield Road, Dudley, was handed six licence penalty points, fined £250 and ordered to pay £60 court costs for failing to provide the identity of a driver.

In court on September 10 Pravin Luke Patel, aged 30, of Central Drive, Gornal, was handed a 12 month conditional discharge ordered to pay £180 compensation and £70 court costs for destroying a door post and lock to the value of £180.

Raja Naveed Hussain, aged 25, of Beechwood Road, Kates Hill, was jailed for 26 weeks for driving while disqualified.

He was also handed eight licence penalty points for driving without insurance.

In court on September 11: Lee Michael Hickman, aged 26, of Westgate Close, Sedgley, was jailed for three months for the theft of CDs and a teddy bear from a motor vehicle.

The defendant was also jailed for three months to run consecutive to the above for the theft of a car stereo from a motor vehicle.

He was also jailed for one month to run concurrent with the above for interfering with a motor vehicle.

Farooq Mohammed, aged 27, of Cromwell Drive, Dudley, was jailed for 120 days for stealing six cans of Red Bull from Bargain Food Stores.

James Henry Joseph Timmins, aged 27, of Stanhope Street, Netherton, was jailed for 20 weeks, suspended for two years, disqualified from driving for four years as well as being ordered to pay £300 court costs for failing to provide a specimen for analysis.

In court on September 15: Jamie Steven Pugh, aged 20, of Wren’s Nest Road, Dudley, was handed a community order as well as being ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £60 court costs for possessing a claw hammer in Harebell Crescent.

Scott Anthony John Parsons, aged 20, of New Road, Netherton, was handed a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £70 court costs for destroying a door worth £650.
