THE latest borough library link is set to be officially opened by the Mayor of Dudley.

Councillor Ray Burston will open the new facility on Friday at 2pm at Woodside Children’s Centre in Highgate Road.

Visitors to the link will have access to all library services including around 1,500 books.

There is also computer and internet access which gives people the opportunity to search online catalogues and reserve books from other libraries which can be delivered to the link.

Library staff will be on hand for a minimum of 10 hours every week and the facility will also be equipped with a self service machine which allows people to borrow and reserve books from 8.30am until 6pm Monday to Friday.

Councillor Michael Evans, cabinet member responsible for libraries, said: “Woodside is one of three library links now open in the borough and offers a bright, modern facility with regular activities for children and adults. It’s free and easy to join, so if you’re not already a member, just pop along to your nearest library or library link.”

The new library link has been set up to replace Woodside Library which was closed last Summer.

A further two library links can be found at Dudley Wood Neighbourhood Learning Centre and Quarry Bank Community Centre.
