A MISSING teenage girl, who was thought to be in the Dudley area, has been found safe and well by police.
Sarah Dunn, 14, from Herefordshire, went missing on September 28, during a shopping trip to Bridgnorth.
The teen, who was in the care of social services, was found on November 4 in Leicester.
As part of the investigation, officers from West Mercia Police have been working closely with Dudley Social Services as CCTV images and street searches lead them to believe Sarah was in the area.
At a press conference held at Brierley Hill police station, officers said Sarah had recently taken an interest in the Islamic faith and detectives believed she may have been with the Asian community in Dudley.
Sarah has since been returned to the care of social services and police have arrested a man in Leicester in connection with the investigation. He has been bailed while inquiries continue.
Superintendent Kevin Purcell, from Herefordshire Division of West Mercia Police, said: “This has been a significant investigation and officers from West Mercia Police have worked closely with colleagues from Dudley Social Services to locate Sarah.
“The protection of vulnerable people is a top priority for West Mercia Police. We are pleased to have found Sarah safely and grateful for all the assistance provided to this investigation by the media and members of the public.”
