DUDLEY is the town in the West Midlands with the fastest broadband, according to research by the UK’s most popular broadband comparison website - top10-broadband.co.uk.
Over the past two months Top 10 Broadband compiled almost 200,000 broadband speed tests carried out by users of its website, in over 2,600 postcodes in towns and cities around the UK.
Results show that the average home broadband speed in Dudley is higher than the average speeds in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, and over 2Mb ahead of the speeds recorded in Coventry and Stoke.
In fact, Dudley is so fast it came third overall out of the UK’s 60 biggest cities in Top 10 Broadband’s nationwide survey, and was over faster than London, which came 15th.
Alex Buttle from Top 10 Broadband said: “Nowadays everyone expects their broadband to be superfast so they can watch TV online and download the latest music and movies.
The data from our speed test shows that the people of Dudley are getting significantly better speeds than those in nearby cities. So it wouldn’t be surprising if the people of Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Coventry and Stoke started complaining to their ISPs!”
