POLICE have released an e-fit image of a man who tried to force a teenage girl into his car in Netherton.

Officers were called to Cole Street just after 3pm on Monday, May 24, after the 18-year-old woman was approached by an Asian man in a black car, as she waited at the bus stop.

The man tried to coax her into his car, but when she refused, he tried to pull her into the vehicle.

The victim shouted, at which point a male passer by came over to intervene and the offender drove off.

Detective constable Jeff Glock, from the Sandwell and Dudley team of Force CID, said: “Clearly the motives behind this man’s actions are not known at this stage but we are keen to trace him as part of our enquiries.

“We are treating this very seriously and want to speak to anyone who recognises the man from the e-fit image, and also the gentleman who came to the victim’s aid. He could have information which proves vital to our inquiry.”

The offender is described as a dark skinned Asian man, around 6ft tall, around 25 - 30 years-old, with heavy stubble, bushy eyebrows.

He was wearing baggy blue jeans, white Nike trainers, and a thick gold chain around his neck. The man was in a black medium sized car.

Police are also urging the man who came to the victim's aid to come forward and speak to the Force CID's Sandwell and Dudley team by calling 0345 113 5000.
