Dudley man jailed for harassment

A 36 YEAR-old Dudley man who repeatedly breached a restraining order to keep away from his former partner has been jailed for 60 weeks.

Judge Robin Onions told Richard Lamb he had a "quite dreadful" record for harassment and added: "You seem incapable of leaving people alone and complying with court orders."

He said: "You have got to learn that if you do not leave this lady alone there is a price to pay. Leave her alone - she does not want you at her home."

Wolverhampton Crown Court heard it was the eighth time Lamb had appeared before a court for harassment or breaching the order.

Glyn Samuel prosecuting, said Lamb had been told to go nowhere near her Netherton address but she believed he kept turning up because she was in a new relationship.

Samantha Powis defending said the relationship between the couple had lasted for a long time and she was currently expecting Lamb's baby.

"This is clearly a doomed relationship but it has existed for some time," added Miss Powis. "He maybe a nuisance but he has never made any threats to this woman."

Lamb, now of no fixed address, admitted three breaches of the restraining order and also failing to comply with the requirements of a community order imposed when he was given a 36 week suspended prison sentence for harassment.

The judge jailed him for 24 weeks for the offences before the court and he ruled he should also have to serve the 36 weeks - to run consecutively.

He further made a new four year restraining order forbidding Lamb from going anywhere near his former partner.
