FRIENDS and relatives of 26-year-old Patrick Cody, who drowned in a fishing lake during his best friend’s wedding, are being asked to wear colourful clothes at his funeral next week.
Mr Cody, of Aylesford Close, died after going swimming in the lake at Patshull Park Hotel and Country Club during the wedding at which he was best man.
His funeral will take place on Monday, August 23 at St Chad’s Catholic Church, Sedgley at 10am, followed by burial at Sytch Lane Cemetery, Wombourne.
His family, including his father Denis, the headteacher of St Joseph’s RC Primary School, have requested there be no black ties at the funeral and only pretty and colourful clothing to celebrate his life.
Donations are welcome for Cherry Trees Special School in Wombourne and can be sent to Wombourne Funeral Services, 124 Bridgnorth Road, Wombourne, WV5 8AY.
