DUDLEY Town’s recent good run was brought to a shuddering halt as they were hammered 6-1 at home by Wellington.

Doubles for Ryan Daw, Matt Williams and Paul Jones sealed a comfortable victory for the visitors, with the hosts having only Tyrone Clarke’s consolation to show for their efforts.

Defeat ended a three match unbeaten run for Steve Hinks’ side which included a fine late 3-2 victory at Goodrich last week.

The Robins will hope to get back to winning ways when they host basement side Heath Town Rangers this Saturday.

A superb comeback in the final 20 minutes saw Tividale stretch their advantage at the top of the table to four points with a 3-2 win at Bustleholme.

All hope seemed lost as Tivi trailed 2-0 with 20 minutes to go but a Lee Chilton screamer and Joel Kettle’s deflected effort levelled matters before Matt Salmon’s injury time spot kick completed a memorable win.

The recent tough run of fixtures continues for the Dale this Saturday when they travel to Bloxwich United (all kick-offs 3pm).
