DUDLEY Kingswinford RFC recorded another victory against bottom club Leamington to maintain their 100 per cent record, while condemning their hosts to a tenth straight defeat.

DK scored eleven tries including two penalty tries, with the home side only able to post two in response.

The visitors made four changes to the side that won at Whitchurch two weeks ago. With full back Simon Fletcher unavailable, Matt Farrington, a recent signing from Bridgnorth, made his debut, and Robbie Jones replaced Nick Adams on the left wing.

In the forwards Ollie Shakespeare came into the second row, with Ben Connett dropping to the bench and Rich Kelley replaced Al Francis.

The DK pack were in tremendous form again and Leamington were simply unable to live with them. The back row in particular were faultless.

The backs also played well with Matt Farrington impressing, although they were badly caught out for the Leamington tries. DK Man of the Match went to Ian Langford, who was magnificent in both attack and defence.

Both sides threatened in the opening exchanges and DK should have scored in the first minute but failed to make the most of a chance.

DK’s first try came after 12 minutes when Leamington collapsed a five metre scrum and the referee immediately awarded DK a penalty try, which was converted by Gareth Bown.

A second try quickly followed when DK lost their own lineout throw but Leamington were unable to control the tap and Stefan Thorp burst through to take the ball, before sending in Luke Greenwood for a try in the corner.

Following more heavy pressure down the left a quick ball inside saw Stefan Shillingford power through for a try, which was again converted by Bown.

The fourth try came after some subtle inter-passing between Shaun Griffiths and Ollie Shakespeare sent Jamie Ramsey in at the corner to make it 24-0 on 29 minutes.

Yet another try followed moments later when, after a break by Shillingford, the ball made it's way to Farrington whose pass found James Jefferson 40 metres out. Higgins converted for 31-0.

Things then got worse for the beleagured home side, when a speculative kick from winger Robbie Jones over two advancing Leamington defenders saw them collide with each other, leaving Jones to stroll over for a sixth try. Another Higgins conversion gave DK a 38-0 lead at half time.

The hosts hit back early in the second half when a couple of missed tackles allowed Leamington captain Ross Bayston through for a try under the posts.

The Leamington revival continued shortly after when Adam Preece burst through to score in the corner.

That was as good as it got for the hosts.

Straight from the kick off DK responded when hooker Luke Greenwood was driven over following a lineout catch and drive to make the score 43-12.

An eighth DK try arrived in the 57th minute when following a maul Ollie Shakespeare was released to power over close in, which Higgins converted.

Another try came on the hour after a dummy from Higgins followed by a run to the line.

DK notched their tenth try after 68 minutes when Stefan Thorp barrelled over following a driving maul. Higgins converted to make it 62-12.

They weren’t finished there and the final DK try came four minutes from time when they were awarded another penalty try after Leamington were caught offside.
