A 50 YEAR old martial arts instructor from Brierley Hill burst into tears as he was cleared by a jury of raping a woman.

Robert Lock, of Goldencross Way, held his head in his hands and sobbed as the eight man-four woman panel returned their not guilty verdicts.

Lock had denied two charges of rape and the jury retired for almost three hours at the end of his four day trial to consider the evidence.

They then returned to Wolverhampton Crown Court to announce they had unanimously cleared him on both charges.

The prosecution had alleged Lock who runs a martial arts academy in Lye had forced his victim to have sex and he had been described as "violent and domineering."

But Lock maintained in evidence to the jury that all that had taken place between him and the woman had been consensual.
