ANDY Mulligan believes it has still been a season of massive achievement at Dudley United Ladies, whether they win the league or not.

United have lead the West Midlands Premier for most of the season and play their last game this Sunday at Bradwell Belles.

Yet they will face an anxious wait of perhaps several weeks to see if their efforts have been enough to clinch the crown, as rivals Solihull sit ten points behind but with four games in hand.

Mulligan says his side, who have already clinched the League Cup, can be proud of their efforts whatever the next few weeks bring.

He said: “I think it’s easy to forget just how far we have come in one season - we are aiming for back-to-back promotions.

“If we win on Sunday it will mean we have beaten last season’s points total which is a fantastic achievement.

“We have put pressure on Solihull but to stop us winning the league they will have had to win eight games in a row.

“That is championship winning form and they would deserve it.

“There is nothing more we can do as a team. If it turns out we have lost the league because of one defeat it just shows what a tough league it is and the quality of the two sides battling out for the title.”
