A NETHERTON man has been sent to a young offenders' institution for 28 days for assaulting a female police constable.
Martin John Shane Glear, aged 20, of Lodge Crescent, was sentenced by Dudley Magistrates Court on Thursday August 17.
Also in court this day:
m Sarah Louise Mcgregor, aged 29, of Hermit Street, Lower Gornal, has been handed a five-month curfew order for using or threatening unlawful violence.
The defendant was also ordered to pay £138 court costs.
m Henry Gibbs, aged 23, of Queen Street, Pensnett, has been ordered to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work for carrying, without reasonable excuse, a knuckle duster in a public place.
The defendant was also handed a 12-month community order and made to pay £100 court costs.
m Anthony Gill, aged 46, of Central Drive, Lower Gornal, has been sent to prison for six months for assault.
The defendant was also fined £200 for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

m Ousman Khalid, aged 23, of Wrens Nest Road, Dudley, has been handed seven licence points, fined £45 and ordered to pay £35 costs for driving without insurance.
m Natasha Verity Brissett, aged 29, of Blackacre Road, Dudley, has been fined £30 and ordered to pay £35 court costs for waiting on a road where it was prohibited to do so.
m Lisa Colquhoun, aged 28, of Primrose Park, Brierley Hill, has been given six licence points, fined £125 and ordered to pay £35 costs for driving without insurance.
m Natalie Lauren Garratt, aged 19, of Cromwell Street, Kates Hill, has been given three licence points, fined £80 and ordered to pay £43 costs for driving without insurance.
m Peter Victor Harper, aged 20, of St Johns Court, Lower Derry Street, Brierley Hill, has been given six licence points, fined £100 and ordered to pay £35 court costs for driving without a licence or insurance.
m Lee Knowles, aged 23, of Bratch Close, Netherton, has been handed three licence points, fined £55 and ordered to pay £35 costs for failing to comply with a traffic sign.
m Andrew Martin Lemon, aged 25, of Stourbridge Road, Brierley Hill, has been disqualified from driving for six months, fined £285 and ordered to pay £43 costs for driving without a licence or insurance.
m Helen Morris, aged 30, of New Road, Dudley, has been given six licence points and fined £65 for driving without insurance.
m David Williams, aged 41, of Heath Road, Saltwells, has been given six licence points, fined £100 and ordered to pay £35 costs for driving without a licence or insurance.
