A 45 YEAR-old Kates Hill man has been handed a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to £160 court costs for stealing a £9.49 bottle of whisky.

Appearing in Dudley Magistrates Court on July 18, Anthony James Burns, of Ernest Road, was also ordered to pay £9.49 compensation for stealing the bottle from Aldi.

Also in court on July 18: Mohinder Singh, aged 45, of Dingle Close, Dudley, was jailed for 20 weeks, suspended for 12 months, handed a 12 month restraining order and ordered to pay £250 compensation and £85 court costs, for assault.

In court on July 19: Michael Short, aged 44, of Ripley Grove, Dudley, was handed a 12 month conditional discharge and a 12 month restraining order, as well as being ordered to pay £85 court costs, for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.

Jonathan Wright, aged 30, of Springfield Grove, Sedgley, was fined £100 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, as well as being disqualified from driving for 12 months, for driving while over the legal alcohol limit.

Mark Charles Gallagher, aged 39, of Lincoln Road, Dudley, was fined £200 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, for possessing cocaine.

Daniel Luxton, aged 25, of Blackacre Road, Dudley, was fined £525, ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, as well as being handed six licence penalty points, for driving without insurance.

Dean Smith, aged 22, of Hermit Street, Upper Gornal, was fined £125 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £60 costs, as well as being handed three licence penalty points, for driving while using a mobile telephone.

In court on July 20: Lisa Jane Evans, aged 25, of Vicarage Prospect, Dudley, was handed a six month community order, ordered to pay £29.88 compensation and £85 court costs, for stealing a box of 12 Nescafe coffee jars from B&M.

Paul Peter Anthony Hall, aged 37, of Surrey Road, Holly Hall, was fined £175 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, as well as being handed three licence penalty points, for driving a vehicle he was not licensed to drive.

Liam Ivan Harris, aged 20, of Cromwell Drive, Dudley, was fined £60 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, for driving while using a mobile telephone.

The defendant was also fined £525 and handed six licence penalty points, for driving without insurance.

In court on July 22: Derek Screen, aged 27, of Foxglove Road, Dudley, was fined £135 and ordered to pay £15 costs and £85 court costs, as well as being disqualified from driving for 12 months, for driving while over the legal alcohol limit.
