CHILDREN can pick up comic strip tips on how to create their own cartoon masterpieces when Beano artist Laura Howell visits borough libraries later this week.
The award-winning Birmingham-based artist, the first female in more than 70 years to produce a regular strip for top comic The Beano, is stopping off at Sedgley Library at 10am and Netherton Library at 2pm on Wednesday August 17.
Councillor Adrian Turner, Dudley’s cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said: “It’s great to welcome such a talent to our libraries.
“We hope these free sessions will encourage children to visit their local library and get signed up to this year’s summer reading challenge.”
Places are limited and tickets are needed.
The event is part of the six-book summer reading challenge, with circus-themed activities continuing at borough libraries until September 3.
Registration forms for the free challenge are still available at all Dudley libraries.
