YOUNG borough actors were rewarded for their achievements in Jigsaw Youth Theatre, at the second annual awards ceremony.

The red carpet event, called ‘Jiggies’ was arranged by the youth executive committee of the Jigsaw Youth Theatre, to honour the members of the group over the last 12 months and to mark the end of the second year of a three year Lottery funded project, called ‘Lift Off’.

The ceremony, which was held at Netherton Arts Centre, marked the commitment and creativity of over 100 young people, who were presented with awards by the Deputy Mayor of Dudley, councillor Doreen Ameson.

Following the awards, the group held a party with a disco, chocolate fountain and non-alcoholic cocktails.

Andy Coulter , Lift Off Project Manager, said: “The event went really well. The children all dressed up for the occasion and enjoyed the VIP treatment on the red carpet.”

Jigsaw runs weekly dance, drama and musical theatre workshops for young people from across the borough and has recently launched activities at the former Crown Inn in Wolverhampton Street in Dudley.
