DUDLEY Kingswinford recorded the biggest win in their history with a 21 try demolition of Manchester.

The home side were utterly ruthless, scoring eight first half tries and ramping up the pressure even further in the second period with an astonishing 13 scores as the overworked Mancunian’s defence crumbled.

Stefan Shillingford top scored with five tries, while Duncan Chance got four and Jordan Brookes three. There were 11 different scorers in all.

After a quiet first five minutes, DK scored a fine opening try when the ball was moved quickly to right wing Duncan Chance who beat a couple of defenders on the outside before kicking ahead for Stefan Shillingford to touch down.

Gareth Bown converted for a 7-0 lead.

Manchester fly half Richard McCartney was short with a couple of penalties in quick succession before Chance notced the hosts’ second of the game.

A 17th minute lineout catch and drive saw Luke Greenwood driven over for DK’s third try, making the score 17-0. DK were now really hitting their straps and the bonus point fourth try duly arrived after 20 minutes following a superb 50m break from Jefferson who sent in Farrington for the score.

Four further tries were scored before half time and scrum-half Brookes got the first two.

On 25 minutes he took the scoring pass following a fine break from Tom Bissell and then on the half hour after the DK pack heeled a ball against the head for Brookes to plunder the ball and sprint 40 metres for a fine individual score.

Good play from Bown just past the half hour put Chance into space and he again broke, chipping and chasing 45 metres to touch down DK’s seventh try.

The eighth and final try of the half came through Shillingford. Higgins’ conversion made it 48-0 at the break.

It took just 40 seconds of the second period for the hosts to snare try number nine, with Chance notching his third.

The home side reached ten tries after 53 minutes when Rich Kelley secured another loose ball to send Brookes away to score another excellent individual try.

Everything DK tried seemed to be coming off and a minute later a speculative hack by Chance bounced over the Manchester line and he followed up for his fourth try.

Bown and John Tideswell scored in quick succession to make it 83-0 after 57 minutes.

Shaun Girffiths drove over from a five metre scrum on 64 minutes, with Fletcher getting an unconverted effort to push the score to 95-0 with 12 minutes to go.

Fittingly, the try which pushed the hosts over the 100 mark it went to Shillingford, who powered over after 71 minutes following several close skirmishes on the Manchester line.

If the visitors thought that DK would now take it easy they were very much mistaken as the home side plundered a remarkable further five converted tries in the final six minutes.

Shillingford got two of them, with Farrington, Jefferson and Adam Greaves also getting in on the act.
