SPORTY youngsters from a Gornal primary school have handed over £6,216 to Sports Relief - the most amount ever raised by the school for charity.
Every pupil at Roberts Primary School took part in the sponsored mile-long fun event at the end of March.
Each class, from Reception through to Year 6, ran around the school field in year groups throughout the day, while the children from the nursery took part in a fun obstacle course.
Cakes and biscuits were also sold to add extra funds to the charity.
Pupils raised the money through sponsorship from friends and family, with many children raising over £50 on their forms.
Rajinder Kandola, event co-ordinator, said: “This is by far the largest amount anyone at Roberts has ever raised for a charity event. We are very grateful for the amazing support of our families to raise so much.”
