DUDLEY South MP, Chris Kelly, has officially unveiled a new £500,000 machine at a 90 year-old metal spraying centre.

The new machine will allow Metallisation Ltd, to produce 80 per cent of the components used in the manufacturing of its product at its Peartree Lane base.

To mark the investment the company, which celebrated its milestone anniversary earlier this year, held an in-house competition for staff to name the new machine, with Sales and Shipping Coordinator, Beth Satchell winning a bottle of champagne with her suggestion of ‘Ballard’ – a former Managing Director and key figure in the development of the company.

Dr Terry Lester, Managing Director, said: “We have continued to buck the trend and increase our exports year on year with a great product and a diverse portfolio of worldwide distributors. The investment in the new machining centre enables us to improve quality and response times.”

Chris Kelly MP, said: “I was delighted to be invited back to Metallisation Limited, the first company I visited as the newly elected MP for Dudley South in May 2010. Since then the company, has invested many millions of pounds in equipment, taking on an additional ten full-time staff. The company is a great example of successful high quality, niche engineering in the Black Country.”
