Dudley Library to shut for two days
9:00am Saturday 9th June 2012 in News
DUDLEY Library will be closed for two days next week as part of its £208,000 facelift.
The St James’s Road facility will be temporarily closed on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 for the first part of the work programme.
As part of the improvements the library will become a brighter and fresher as well as making it easier for users to find books.
The first floor is now closed until the end of July with the ground floor shut off from the end of July until October.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed, cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said: “Visitors to Dudley Library will have an even more enjoyable experience once the refurbishment is complete.
“The safety of our customers is very important, which is why the library will be closed for two days to carry out some of the work. “We will do all that we can to keep any disruption to a minimum and to ensure customers continue to receive a high quality service.”
