COUNCILLORS have hit out at inconsiderate parents who are causing chaos around the borough’s schools.

At North Dudley Area Committee, Sedgley ward councillor David Caunt, warned action was being taken over parents who clog up the streets with cars while dropping off and picking up their children.

Cllr Caunt raised the issue following problems around Sedgley schools, but warned the issue affected schools across the borough.

Cllr Caunt said: “These parents are parking across driveways at the time when people need to get out of their driveways to go to work.

“I am sure that the people who cause this probably would be just as irate if that person did the same to them. It is totally inconsiderate and totally wrong.

“Warning after warning has been given and I hope the final solution will hopefully be to hit people in their pockets.

“It is just not on. These inconsiderate parents block two sides of the road and ignore all the signs.

“They think that they own the roads but I am sorry, that’s not the case. The roads belong to everybody.

“This is an early warning that action is being taken.”
