WITH her big brown puppy eyes, shy Sky is desperately seeking a loving home to call her own after spending months in foster care.
The five-year-old long-haired black and tan Collie cross has been in the care of Dudley Animal Rescue for more than three months after being picked up as a stray, but is being overlooked by potential new owners because of her initial apprehension towards men.
The Sedgley-based charity, which usually rehomes dogs within four weeks, has featured Sky in nine adverts but volunteers fear she has not had any offers of a new home because owners are being put off by her initial barking towards them. Dudley Animal Rescue fosterer, Terri Woodall, who is currently caring for Sky, said: “ She is a really loving dog, just nervous of men when she first meets them as we think she may have had bad experiences with them in the past.
“I have two strapping sons and my husband at home and she adores them.
“It is the initial meeting which puts people off. Once she knows you are not going to hurt her she is fine.
“She just needs her confidence building and lots of love.”
Anyone interested in adopting Sky should contact Marion Fisher on 01902 676559.
Ideally the charity would like to rehome her with a mature couple with no young children.
