Still time to join in summer reading challenge
8:30am Friday 24th August 2012 in News
YOUNG bookworms are reminded there is still plenty of time to complete the summer reading challenge.
More than 2,500 children have signed up to read six books over this year’s school summer holiday and have until September 10 to complete the challenge.
Once completed each child will be presented with a medal and a free family swim voucher and are also entered into a prize draw to win a selection of top prizes, including tickets to West Midlands attractions.
Councillor Khurshid Ahmed , cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said: “Children have had a whole lot of fun in libraries this summer taking part in many free craft and reading activities organised as part of the annual summer reading challenge.”
There is also still time to register and take part. For more information and to sign-up visit any borough library.
