EARLY indications show GCSE results have improved at a number of Dudley Borough schools in relation to last year's figures.
Across the borough in 2011, 80.8 per cent of pupils gained five or more grades A* to C while 58.5 per cent achieved five or more grades A* to C including English and maths.
Of results published so far for schools in the Dudley region, Bishop Milner is up nine per cent and Ellowes Hall has risen by eight per cent.
Councillor Tim Crumpton, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “I would like to congratulate all pupils who have received their results today and wish them every success for the future.
"The results are testimony not only to the hard work of students but also to the teachers and parents who have supported them in their studies.”
