Police to host fun event in Buffery Park on Friday

THERE will be plenty of family fun and games on offer in Buffery Park on Friday night.

The event, which runs from 5pm until 8pm, has been organised by St Thomas’s neighbourhood police officers.

Officers have joined forces with representatives from West Midlands Fire Service and Dudley's voluntary service to host an evening full of games including basketball and sumo wrestling.

There will also be a barbeque using food donated by a local supermarket, an Asian and Caribbean buffet and a stall with cakes donated by residents in the community.

Sergeant Warren Lambeth of the St Thomas's team said: "This is a good opportunity for local kids and their parents to meet their local officers, giving them the opportunity to ask questions and raise any concerns they have."
